Our Story - One woman's refusal to let comfort be the end of her glamour.

Before Everything Changed

I used to live for it — frocking up in heels for work, dressing up for the races, pulling on high boots and jeans for a night out. Getting dressed was never just getting dressed. It was part of who I was.

Then a kangaroo attack changed everything. The damage to my hip that followed was later diagnosed as osteoarthritis in both hips, and just like that, the life I had dressed for looked very different.

The heels went away. The confidence to just get up and go without thinking about it — that took longer.

Learning a New Kind of Living

Life after diagnosis became about rebuilding — physio and ongoing reformer Pilates to build strength and stability. Managing inflammation became part of every day: acupuncture, watching what I eat and drink, getting enough sleep, giving my body the rest it asks for.

It is not always easy. Keeping weight off is a real and ongoing challenge. But when I commit to these things consistently, my body responds. I have learned to work with it, not against it.

And somewhere in that process, a new question started forming: why should any of this mean giving up glamour?

The Search That Started Everything

I went looking for fashion that could hold both things at once — comfort and glamour, together, without compromise. What I found surprised me. The pieces existed. They just needed finding.

Beyond Glamour Co grew out of that search. I wanted a place to share what I was discovering — clothing and accessories in beautiful natural fabrics like cotton and linen that move well with a body that has its limitations, that coordinate with existing wardrobes beautifully, and that give you the confidence to walk into a room without spending the whole night wondering if your hip will give out.

Because I know that feeling. And I know how much it takes away from a moment you should simply be enjoying.

Effortless style is not a compromise. It is a choice. And it should belong to every woman, regardless of what her body is doing.

The Boudoir Candle Room

Alongside fashion, a second part of Beyond Glamour Co was born from a love of creating beautiful things.

Our handcrafted scented candles — the Sanctuary collection and the Poudre Rose range — are made to do more than fill a room with fragrance. They are made for moments. The quiet ones. The ones that belong only to you.

Sanctuary invites you to pause, breathe, and return to yourself. Poudre Rose brings the soft, powdery warmth of the boudoir into your everyday. Each candle is poured with intention, because we believe the small rituals of a woman's day deserve to feel as considered as everything else she does.
